WatchWave Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how WatchWave handles information when you use our website and services.

1. Overview

WatchWave is designed with privacy in mind. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes, and we do not host or track the third-party content you access through our platform.

2. Information We Collect

WatchWave uses Firebase (a Google service) to power core functionality such as account authentication and data storage. Through Firebase, the following may be collected:

  • Account information: such as your email address, if you create an account or sign in.
  • Basic usage data: such as watchlist entries, viewing progress, or preferences you save within the app, so your experience syncs across sessions.
  • Technical data: such as IP address and device/browser information, which Firebase and standard web infrastructure collect automatically to keep the service secure and functioning.

We do not independently collect, sell, or share additional personal data beyond what is necessary for the Service to function.

3. How We Use Information

Any information collected through Firebase is used solely to:

  • Authenticate your account and keep you signed in
  • Save your preferences, watchlist, and viewing progress
  • Maintain the security and reliability of the Service

We do not use your information for advertising profiling, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

  • WatchWave links to third-party content providers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties, and we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
  • Firebase (Google) processes certain data on our behalf as described above. You can review Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's terms for details on how Google/Firebase handles data at the infrastructure level.
  • If WatchWave displays third-party advertisements, those ad providers may independently collect data through cookies or similar technologies; this is not controlled by WatchWave.

5. Data Security

We rely on Firebase's built-in security infrastructure (including authentication and encrypted data storage) to help protect your information. While we take reasonable steps to keep the Service safe, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

Account and usage data (such as watchlist or sign-in information) is retained for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Choices

  • You may use the Service without creating an account, in which case minimal to no personal data is stored.
  • If you create an account, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time.
  • You may stop using the Service at any time to opt out of any further data collection.

8. Children's Privacy

WatchWave is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
